Description: This area is famous with places, which describes on the “Secret History of Mongols”. You can see birthplace of Great king Chinggis Khaan’s histircal places such us: ruins of Kidan and Hunui state, the first is the ruins of an ancient city of Kidan State (9 to 11th Century AD), the second - is rectangular tomb which could be related to another Mongolian State at the time of the Hunui (3rd Century BC to 2nd Century AD), Tsaitiin Tsagaan Tal, Jalman Tal, Bereeven monastery, height - 1,70 - 3 m; length - 12 km. Visit Rashaan Khad - stone pictures and about 20 inscribed stones aged from Stone Age to 17 century A.D. on Orkhon – Yenisei, Arabic, Persian, Mongolian, Tuvd and Kidan letters. There is a smithy of Stone Age and about 400 stone seals.

Also you can take pleasure with nature beauties of Mongolia. Gurvan Nuur Lake is also famous for having the first monument to Chinggis Khaan, erected in 1962. The Onon River and its basin are considered to be the place of origin of all Mongols and it is closely connected with the name of the Great Khan – Chinggis. Rashaan ders is a place where governed Mongolian Great Khaans – Chinggis, Uguudei, Gueg, Munkh. It was a capital city of Great Mongolian Empire between 1189-1217. There is a Ger base of Esugei (farther of Chinggis Khan). In the sourth of Rashaan ders there are ancient tombs of common people of 13-14 century. “Fortress of Blue River” – which was for the army of Hunnu – from 4-3 centuries B.C. to A.D. I century. Also, there is a Man Stone (Turkic, A.D. 8-6 century). Kherlen-Toono Mountain – tombs of 12-8 centuries B.C. – 14-15 century A.D.

Ruins at Delgerkhaan of ancient city of Kidan State (9 to 11th Century AD), the second one is a rectangular tomb, which could be related to another Mongolian State of the time of the Huns (3rdCenturry BC to 2nd Century AD). Ih Aguit – Cave (15-16 century) with a length of 10 metres, width – 5 m, height – 3 m. There are symmetrical made stone tables and chairs inside of Cave. It’s a beautiful place with lake and forest. Huiten Am – Mountain, where all kinds of animals are spotted. Fortress of Blue River – beautiful sand stripe. Peak of the Mountain Herlen Bayan Ulaan – there are 13 traditional hillocks, created by Chinggis Khaan. Avraga River. The river was named the “Avraga” because of the palace of Chinggis Khaan, which was built on its bank. There is a spring on the valley of the river Avraga, with a bicarbonate and carbonic gas composition. Toson Lake. Toson lake water includes carbonate, soda and chlorine and is used as a curative bath.

Day 4.

Umundelger / Dadal

Drive to Dadal soum of Khentii aimag. In this area you will see: Birthplace of Chinggis Khan. It is considered that the birthplace of Chinggis Khan is a hill, at an altitude of 1,231 meters above sea level and located northwest from the center of Binder soum. Many of local places are mentioned in the “Secret History of the Mongols”. Overnight at Ger camp.

Day 5.

Dadal

Visit local nomadic families. Horseback riding, fishing and trekking to Gurvan Nuur Lake, Onon and Balj River. Onon river abounds in fish, for instance Sturgeon, Taimen, Lenok, Amur Chub, and etc. The lake of Gurvan Nuur Rashaan. This lake water is used for curative purposes. Monument of Chinggis Khan. Balj river. The Balj River is an eastern tributary of the Onon. Overnight at Ger camp.

Day 6.

Dadal / Chinggis Mountain / Dadal

Visit Chinggis Khaan Mountain, mountain range extends for about 270 km through the territory of Dornod Aimag and beyond the border of Mongolia. Visit local nomadic families. Horseback riding. Overnight at Ger camp.

Day 7.

Dadal / Delgerkhaan

Drive to Delgerkhaan soum. In this area you will see following historical places and places of natural beauty, such as Rashaan ders, “Fortress of Blue River”, Man Stone, Kherlen-Toono Mountain. Horseback riding. Overnight at Ger camp.

Day 8.

Delgerkhaan

Visit Ruins of ancient city of Kidan State, Ih Aguit – Cave (15-16 century), Huiten Am – Mountain, fortress of Blue River – beautiful sand stripe, peak of the Mountain Herlen Bayan Ulaan, Avraga river, Toson lake, water includes carbonate, soda and chlorine and is used as a curative bath. Description: The unique natural complex of Khorgo mountain /2240m/ and Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan /28 m. sq/ appeared as a result of volcanic eruptions many thousand years ago. Khonog Tolgoi / Khagiin Khar Lake

Leave yak carriage, Ger and make our way into fascinating area of Khagiin River and set up a base camp by the lake. Overnight in tent.

Khagiin Khar Lake

We will remain here for a day. The area is rich in wildlife. The lake itself and rivers are rich in fish such as Grayling, Lenok Trout and Taimen. Hiking and Horseback riding. Overnight in tent.

Drive to Khatgal, largest town on the lake and is actually on the river, the Egiin river, at the mouth of the lake, so you don’t get much idea of the lake’s size from here. Overnight Ger camp or tent.

Day 5.

Khatgal / Toilogt

Horseback riding to Toilogt. Around 30km north of Toilogt is Khar Us, a series of springs surrounded by meadows of beautiful wildflowers. This makes great destination to reach on horse. Overnight at Ger camp.

Day 1.

Ulaanbaatar

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. City sightseeing. National folk and dance concert. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2.

Ulaanbaatar / Hovd

Flight to Hovd, the administrative center of Hovd province. After lunch we will do a short city tour with visit of museum. Overnight at Local hotel.

Day 3.

Manhan soum / Har Us lake

Drive to the famous cave "Gurvan Tsenheryn" dating back in 13000 BC and see cave paintings. This cave is located 80 km distance from Hovd city, and is deep 20 m. We will tour this cave for about 1-2 hours. Visit the Munkhhairkhan mountain, at 4200 m the 2nd highest mountain in Mongolia, where we will have possibilities to study the Zakhchin customs and get to know their traditions and enjoy Zakhchin national music and dance. Overnight in tents near the family.

Day 4.

Umundelger / Dadal

Drive to Har Us Lake in Manh soum. Har us lake is one the biggest lakes, where we will visit a Myangad minor ethnic group family. Mongolian traditional dinner. Enjoy the throat singing of the local masters. Total distance 190 km. Overnight at Ger camp.

Day 5.

Har Us Lake / Hovd

Horse riding and trekking. Drive back to Hovd; visit Sangyn Kheren ruins, built in the early 1760s by Manchu warlords. Overnight at Local hotel.

Day 6.

Hovd / Ulaanbaatar

Flight back to Ulaanbaatar. Full day sightseeing in Ulaanbaatar, including the Gandantegchilen Monastery, the Bogd Khaan Winter Palace Museum, the National History and Nature Museum, Zanabazar’s Fine Art Museum, Art Gallery, Choijin Lama Temple Museum and Zaisan Hill. It is located 1425 km from Ulaanbaatar. Meet with Kazakh minor ethnic groups learn about their culture, traditions and customs. Kazakh, Turkish reign family/Deer stone monument, ancient drawings on rocks/the famous Shijigttiin gorge. The Mongolian Altai Mountains stretches across the province and its highest peak is Munkh Khairkhan. 4200 m above see level.

Tsambagarav is the live place of kazakhs people. Kazakhs are the routes of the Turkis reign. The Tsoohor Kazakhs mainly live is the area; they are the Abah Kerei and Eight Kazakhs. During the 1864 the Kazakhs moved from Altai mountain to Hovd and in 1890 they rented a small piece of land from Urianhai, since that period they are living here, after the Manchurian period they requested from the king Bogd to become one of the minor groups of Mongols, and since 23 March 1917 they are pronounced official group of Mongols.

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. City sightseeing. National folk and dance concert. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2.

Ulaanbaatar / Hovd

Flight to Hovd. After arrival we visit the local cafe for a cup of tee and then we will do a short city tour with visit of museum. Overnight at Local hotel.

Day 3.

Hovd / Tsambagarav soum

Today we drive to Tsambagarav soum, total distance 22 kms. Here we will study the lifestyle, customs and folklore of the Kazakh groups. Here there are about 986 families with 4264 populations. Here we will visit stone monuments from Turkish reign. At 48 km distance from this soum we visit the Hogio Deer stone monument. Overnight in tents near the family.

Day 4.

Tsambagarav soum / Shijight gorge

We will visit Salhit, here we will see the Zost Zuhaa period "Soldiers riding horse" drawings on stones and rock. Then we travel further to visit the Shijight gorge. Overnight in tents near the family.

Day 5.

Hovd / Ulaanbaatar

Drive back to Hovd and flight to Ulaanbaatar. Total distance of this route is 195-250 kms. Half day sightseeing in Ulaanbaatar, including the Gandantegchilen Monastery, the Bogd Khaan Winter Palace Museum, the National History and Nature Museum, Zanabazar’s Fine Art Museum, Art Gallery, Choijin Lama Temple Museum and Zaisan Hill.
